Alex Morono: Vet hoping to avoid third successive loss
Alex Morono (24-11 with one no contest) is coming off two successive defeats in the UFC and he is desperate to avoid losing three in a row. He last fought in October where he suffered a split decision defeat at the hands of Daniel Rodriguez. The 34-year-old has come up against some quality fighters in the last couple of years but it does not hide the fact that he has lost four of his last six fights in the UFC. His only wins have come against veterans Tim Means and Court McGee and he is in desperate need of a win here to stay relevant and potentially alive in the organisation.
Carlos Leal: Brazilian desperate for first win in Octagon
Carlos Leal (21-6) lost on his UFC debut last time out as he suffered a unanimous decision loss at the hands of Rinat Fakhretdinov at UFC 308 in October. The Brazilian comes into his second bout in the promotion and he will be desperate to get a win under his belt to live up to some of the hype is earned outside of the UFC. Prior so that loss on his debut, the only fighter he had lost two in his previous 17 bouts was Sadibou Sy in the PFL. The Lion will be hoping to rekindle that form in the Octagon.

Carlos Leal comes into this bout desperately needing a victory to show that he can perform at the highest level in the UFC. Suffering a loss on his UFC debut was not ideal and he will see this match against Alex Morono as the ideal opportunity to get back to winning ways.
Morono is in desperate need himself of getting a win here and he could very well be fighting for his future in the UFC.
It is hard to make a case for him however especially against the younger man and somebody is hungry as Leal.
We are not sure that Leal is as big a favourite to the bookmakers would suggest but we have to further him to get the victory here. Morono is durable and it could very well be on the scorecards but expect the Brazilian to have his hand raised at the end of the fight.
