  • Drywall Estimate for Basement Renovation

    Hi everyone,

I'm currently planning a basement renovation and need some advice on estimating drywall costs. The area is about 800 square feet, including walls and ceilings. I’m looking to use 1/2 inch drywall. What factors should I consider for a more accurate drywall estimate? Should I factor in potential waste, and if so, how much extra should I buy? Additionally, are there any hidden costs like screws, tape, or mud that I might be overlooking? Any tips on hiring a contractor versus doing it myself would also be appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Clearing out and tidying up the basement doesn't have to be overwhelming if you plan it well. Begin by categorizing items into keep, donate, recycle, and throw away. This approach not only declutters but also supports efficient waste separation. Applying practical tips for efficient waste separation and disposal will help you manage everything responsibly, ensuring that recyclables and hazardous materials are properly handled. Transform your basement into an organized, usable space while doing your part for the environment.
