The 97th annual Academy Awards will take place in the wake of the Southern California wildfires that devastated acres upon acres and displaced entire communities. But similarly to the 2025 Grammys, this year's Oscars plans to โhonorโ the city of Los Angeles outright.

The stars are also assembling for Hollywood's Biggest Night with exciting programming leading up to "The Oscarsยฎ." Multihyphenate Julianne Hough and television personality Jesse Palmer will host "The Oscars Red Carpet Show," the official lead-in to the 97th Oscars on Sunday, March 2, airing at 6:30 p.m. EST/3:30 p.m. PST on ABC.
This marks Jesse Palmer's inaugural year and Hough's second consecutive year hosting the official pre-show. The 30-minute special will highlight Oscarยฎ nominees, performers and presenters, and provide a multi-view experience of the red-carpet arrivals, giving the audience every can't-miss moment from Hollywood's biggest celebration.
The Oscars red carpet is a major fashion showcase. Oscar nominees and winners from past, present and future pose and mingle ahead of the ceremony.
The carpet will begin at 3:30 p.m. Eastern/12:30 p.m. Pacific. It will be watchable from ABC and Hulu ahead of the award show.โ
